Based upon the Christy winning novel of the same name, and inspired by a true story. Thief of Glory follows young Dutch Jeremiah Prins as he navigates the brutality of a Japanese internment camp during WWII. Facing unimaginable hardship, he fights to protect his family, preserve his dignity, and hold onto love amidst war’s chaos. The film captures the stark realities of survival while exploring resilience, moral choices, and the fragile moments of humanity that emerge in the darkest times. Rooted in history yet deeply personal, it sheds light on a rarely explored aspect of the war, bringing a fresh and emotional perspective to the genre.
Thief of Glory has $100,000 in development funding.
DAUGHTER OF SONG
It’s shocking that the scandalous and tumultuous transition of power from King David to Solomon, as told in First Kings, has never been adapted into a major cinematic or television narrative. Even with its dramatic elements—including a dying King David being kept warm in bed each night by a teenage girl, Abishag, and Solomon executing his older brother over her—this story has somehow remained untouched. Scholars speculate that Abishag herself was the inspiration behind Song of Songs, raising the question: Who was this woman who held intimate ties to not just one, but two of Israel’s most powerful kings?
In Daughter of Song, as King David’s eldest son conspires to assassinate his father before Solomon can be declared heir, Abishag finds herself at the center of a deadly political game. If she cannot stop the plot, Israel’s future will be thrown into chaos. But if her forbidden romance with Solomon is discovered, David will not be the first to die.
This is a high-stakes, character-driven historical epic that explores what it means to be a woman of God in a time when a girl’s worth was measured by the purity of her body rather than the purity of her heart. I’d love to hear your thoughts and explore how we might bring this powerful story to life
